popular culture,but also an indispensable part of cross-strait folk exchanges.More importantly,because variety show culture closely follows the trend of the times,shows individuality,and is full of youthful vitality,it fully meets the aesthetic and consumer needs of the new generation of young people on both sides of the strait,and has become an important channel for young people on both sides of the strait to strengthen exchanges,deepen understanding,and enhance recognition."TV variety culture" has multiple characteristics,such as strong entertainment,rich content,wide audience,etc.It not only has its own multi-cultural forms such as art culture,science and technology culture and business culture,but also gathers the elite culture and mass culture in the TV cultural structure to achieve the coexistence and development of multi cultures.At the same time,it also comprehensively reflects the profound changes in the values,lifestyle,spiritual outlook and psychological state of the country,region,nation,society and individuals caused by the program communication.For both sides of the Taiwan Strait,as "another mirror image" of the times and social changes,TV variety is not only one of the symbols of the spiritual aesthetics of the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait,but also a real and timely reflection of the development of politics,economy,trade,society,culture and science and technology on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.A shallow strait has formed a clear geographical boundary between the two sides of the Strait,but the development of new media technology epidemic.Based on the special historical blood relationship between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait,this paper conducts a comparative study of the TV variety show culture on both sides of the Taiwan Strait from 1990 to 2019 through the perspectives of cultural geography,sociology of popular culture,media ecology,and "value chain" theory.Using interdisciplinary research method,comparative research method,literature analysis method,case study method and in-depth interview method,it constructs a systematic framework for comparative research on TV variety show culture across the Taiwan Strait,mainly focusing on the similarities and differences and interactive analysis of hosting culture,morphological characteristics,and content industry.The important nodes,iconic works,typical events,new developments,difficult cruxes,and the reasons behind them are discussed in detail as much as possible,trace the history and social changes of the two sides of the strait,and explore its deep cultural and psychological structure,in order to promote the cross-strait The integration and development of TV variety show culture seeks experience and countermeasures,and provides theoretical basis and practical materials for the exploration of new ways of cross-strait integration and development.Based on this,this comparison is not only an analysis in the sense of a variety show typology,but also compares it with the overall social and cultural development process on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.Firstly,it combs and analyzes the era context of cross-strait TV variety.This variety artists in the mainland according to the theory of cultural geography,so as to further explore the methods and space for the interaction and integration of cross-strait variety culture.Finally,focusing on the practical significance,cultural path and possible trend of cross-strait TV variety cooperation,this paper analyzes,judges and puts forward strategic suggestions to promote the long-term development and cultural integration of cross-strait TV variety,so as to provide theoretical basis and practical materials for exploring a new way of cross-strait integration and
