As an important link connecting all aspects of social production and making it an organic whole, logistics plays a vital role in the development of modern national economy and society.Thailand is located in the center of Southeast Asia. This geographical advantage provides tremendous conditions and advantages for Thailand to develop into a regional production and distribution center, but at the same time,it is accompanied by a certain degree of uncertainty and constantly emerging new challenges. In September and October 2013,Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the"New Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road"cooperation initiatives,or "Belt and Road" respectively."Initiative.In March 2015,the National Development and Reform Commission of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce of China jointly issued the Vision and Actions for Jointly Building the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road.In May 2017,the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation Roundtable Summit was held, which turned it from a theory into a reality. The "Belt and Road" Initiative has greatly strengthened the trade between Thailand and China, and also proposed new ideas to solve the economic development challenges of the countries along the Belt and Road, which plays an important role in promoting regional economic integration. The main construction task of the "Belt and Road" initiative is to strengthen the production capacity cooperation of countries along the route,Thailand is located in the center of Southeast Asia and has strong geopolitical advantages, and is an important support country for China’s "Belt and Road" initiative.Meanwhile, the construction project of Kunman Passage led by the Chinese government has also made remarkable progress. Also known as the Kun-Man Highway, the 1,807-kilometer Kun-Man Corridor begins in Kunming,Yunnan Province,China, and crosses through three countries: China,Laos and Thailand, passing through Yuxi City,Pu’er City,Xishuangbanna,Nantao and Pocho Provinces in Laos, entering Thailand via Hoi Saeng, and finally arriving in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. In addition, the Thai government has repeatedly proposed strategic development plans for logistics, which are highly compatible with the "One Belt,One Road" initiative of the Chinese government. In this context,it is important to discuss what level of development has been achieved in Thailand’s logistics industry at the time when the "Belt and Road" initiative is being promoted, what impact the construction of the Kunman Pass has had on Thailand’s logistics industry, and how these impacts have enhanced Thailand’s foreign trade and regional economic integration,in order to further optimize Thailand’s logistics system. It is important to further optimize Thailand’s logistics system.Based on the above background and considerations, this paper compares the construction of the Kunman Pass in the context of the "One Belt and One Road" initiative, and compares the current situation of the development of Thailand’s logistics industry based on relevant data from 2006 to 2018,and then constructs an evaluation index of the impact of the construction of the Kunman Pass on the development level of Thailand’s logistics industry in the context of the "One Belt and One Road",and uses the entropy value method to analyze the current development status of Thailand’s logistics industry and the development potential of the logistics industry. The evaluation index of the impact of the construction of Kunman Pass on the development level of Thailand’s logistics industry under the background of "One Belt,One Road" is then constructed, and the current development status of Thailand’s logistics industry and the development potential of the logistics industry are analyzed using the entropy value method. Then, the paper constructs a double difference model(DID)and uses the regression analysis method to empirically test the impact of the construction of the Kunman Pass on the trade between Thailand and China. This paper finds that with the opening of the entire Kun-Man Passage, the development of Thailand’s logistics industry has shown vigorous dynamics in recent years, which largely verifies the important role of building international corridors in improving the investment environment, promoting regional economic exchanges, and boosting economic development.Specifically, with the opening of the Kunman corridor, the rating of Thailand’s logistics industry-related infrastructure has risen significantly, and the frequency of on-time arrival of logistics has been enhanced significantly,in addition to significant improvements in logistics service quality, logistics prices and other indicators. In the context of the "One Belt,One Road" initiative, the completion and opening of the Kunman Corridor has had a significant positive impact on the trade between Thailand and China, increasing the total trade between the two countries. The results of the intermediary test show that the construction of the Kunman Corridor mainly reduces the logistics costs of the countries along the corridor and enhances the trade flows. This paper has certain theoretical and practical significance.Firstly, based on the theory of transport corridor and free trade theory, this paper analyzes the possible paths of the construction of the Kunman Pass from the perspective of regional logistics to influence the development level of logistics in Thailand, which has certain theoretical significance.Secondly, this paper takes the construction of Kunman Pass as an example to prove the positive impact of the Thai government’s high response to China’s "One Belt,One Road" initiative on the development of Thailand’s logistics industry. In today’s globalization, integration and informationization of the economy, this evidence has important implications and practical significance for how Thailand can actively integrate into the world economic development process and promote national economic development.Combining the existed research and realistic background, this paper has the following innovative points: firstly, the research theme and perspective are relatively new.At present, most of the studies on the construction of Kunman Corridor focus on its impact on the development level of logistics industry in China, especially in Yunnan Province of China, but rarely extend the research horizon to the countries along the corridor. Thanks to the feasibility of relevant policies and data acquisition, this paper takes my country,Thailand,as the research object to explore the impact of the construction of the Kunman Pass on the development of Thailand’s logistics industry and the impact path in the context of China’s "One Belt,One Road",which is not only an updated test of the economic consequences related to the construction of the Kunman Pass, but also constitutes a research theme and perspective.innovation.Secondly,the research method is innovative. Most of the existing studies on the development level of logistics industry adopt descriptive statistical analysis, comprehensive evaluation analysis or case study analysis, and there are few papers that combine comprehensive evaluation with empirical testing. This paper integrates various theories and integrates entropy value method and large sample regression analysis, introduces double difference model, and conducts research based on comprehensive evaluation combined with empirical test, and draws richer and more reliable conclusions. Therefore, the research method and research design constitute another innovation of this paper.
