Academician Xi Zezong In The History Of Science History

As one of the first generation of scholars in the history of science and technology, Xi Zezong not only contributed his energy and talents for institutionalization of history of science and technology, but also wrote many significant papers.This paper will first write Xi Zezong's experiences, show that Xi Zezong worked under which kind of background and how he set up and firmed belief in the history of science and technology in the face of adversity. Comprehensive some views on the establishment at home and abroad, the author describes the following contributions:1. Drafted the <12-year Vision of Study on Chinese History of Natural Science and Technology>; 2. Involved in preparing and constructing important research institutions, such as'the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences'and'Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology', etc.; 3. Engaged in doing several education and lectures actively. So Xi Zezong is a witness to the establishment and development of history of science and technology. Chapter IV of this paper describes Xi Zezong's major academic works and papers in the history of science and technology and his pioneering contribution in terms of new table of ancient stars, history of astronomy of stars and planets and history of scientific thought. The last part of this paper will expound Xi Zezong's academic style, and hope that readers will understand comprehensively for Xi Zezong's study on history of science and technology.Xi Zezong has done three main aspects of contribution in the history of science and technology: From the outside, he promoted the process of the establishment; Internally, he published lots of far-reaching papers and works in many fields of history of science and technology;His academic style on history of science and technology is a kind of valuable asset and set a good example for other researchers.
