The Study Of DTM Visualization Based On The VTK Technology

The Visualization of DTM(Digital Terrain Model) is the main research content of GIS(Geographic Information System) > RS(Remote Sensing) and DP(Digital Photogrammetry),it has very important value in economic and military. In this thesis, a wild variety of delaunay triangulation algorithm that are used in the creation of DTM based on the triangulate irregular network (TIN) and the technology of visualization were reviewed. In the developing environment VC++, based on the visualization toolkit VTK, a prototype system VTerrain was developed. In this system, there are main module for DTM visualization, the triangulation module for simulating terrain and the application module. The result show: the DTM based on the delaunay triangulation is fast and valuable; VTK has very great power and is very suitable to be used in the visualization of DTM; The quality of DTM visualization product has improved because of the visualization technology and the new method, such as texture mapping; The DTM based on the TIN has important value in the theory and the application.
