Digital Campus And Information Systems Of Graduate Student Management

Digital campus and digital city are the hotspots in the research of earth space information in recent years. 3S technique, which is the total name of Global Position System(GPS), Geography Information System(GIS), and Remote Sensing(RS), is the key technique in the technology system of earth space information science. With the development of campus informational instruction, the concept of digital campus comes into being. What they call digital campus is that campus makes use of Broad Band and LAN in teaching and learning, researching, management and external communication to handle official business digitally, informational and intellectualized.Based on digital campus theory, GIS soft Mapinfo and author's work experience, this paper gave a construction on information system of graduate student management. Basic idea of systemic design is based on map, graphics and image. The author built all information concerned the work of graduate management on the campus ichnography, and combine spatial date with attribute date to make the manipulation more convenience. The collectivity construction of the system consists of the design of spatial data-base and attribute data-base; browsing, inquiring about and statistic spatial and attribute data; alternating inquiring about spatial data and attribute data; input and output of spatial data and attribute data. The system has not only the basic function of ordinary MIS, also the function of management of spatial data, inquiring about through space and basic spatial analysis. The frame of the system consists of data input, management of recruiting and cultivating graduate students, subject construction, employment management, statistic and analysis etc.After introducing and analyzing the generic system framework: B/S mode and C/S mode, this paper also discussed the application of Web GIS in the informationsystem of graduate management.Based on GIS, Information Systems of Graduate Student Management which combined spatial information, data of graduate student management and database could improve work efficiency, also make daily business easy. What have been done in this paper are that the construction of attribute database on the data of graduate student management and ichnography layer taken shape which help to settle the base for the further research.
