Campus as a carrier intergrated with teaching?research and other functions, has been facing the increasingly diverse?coplex management work. In recent years, with the value of information continues to highlight and the rapid development of information technology, the resource management model is gradually moving in the direction of digital model, building digital campus to improve the efficiency of management has become an inevitable trend. The three-dimensional(3D) GIS as a GIS means focus on the performance of real-world,has unique advantages in terms of diaply results, high dimension analysis, could provide support to build a digital campus with visualization and analysis capabilities.This paper takes Henan Polytechnic University as a research area, in-depth knowledge and understanding of the basis of 3D GIS, collects and organizes the campus map resources and property resources, then takes use of Visual Studio 2010 and Arc Engine compenents and DotnetBar interface controls to develop a visualization campus platform based 3D GIS, the specific work as follows:(1) Organize and generalize the theory of 3D GIS, include the basic concepts of 3D GIS such as definition?characteristics,?data meodels, the build ideas of 3D model, the process of 3D visualization, etc. Filter a suitable program for constructing 3D digital campus.(2) Collect the CAD design map of HPU, the digital Digital Orthophoto Map(DOM), buildings textures and other relevant departments attribute information.Take use of ArcGIS to preprocess data, establish the 3D model of buildings through SketchUp, establish Geodatabase to import?organize these resources.(3) On the basis of the digital campus functional requirements, take use of Visual Studio 2010 development tool, ArcEngine software development Kit and C# coding language, achieve 3D scene load, data management,scene view, 3D inquiry, space measurement, buffer analysis and other functions.
