Chinese Antarctica Spatial Database Of Surveying And Mapping And Its Key Technology

In order to enhance the management and using of Antarctic data, we construct the Chinese Antarctica Spatial Database(CASD), which mainly consists of surveying and mapping data. The database will be good for the Chinese Antarctica Center of Surveying and Mapping to manage the relevant data.The CASD is a systemic project include database, network, geographic information system(GIS). In which the database is the basic part, network is the instrument, GIS is the content. According to the current developing status on Antarctica database, we primarily introduce the metadata standard, and compare some metadata standards among FGDC,ISO/TC211,and DIF. At last, with the actual development of the CASD, we introduce the network running instance.
