The Web Geographical Information System(WebGIS) is a new technical method which is produced by the association of Geographical information system and Internet technology. The WebGIS helps people to acquire all the geographical spacial data and information of graphs and images through the Internet. As the requirement of geographical information increases, the WebGIS, which is based on the Internet to deliver the geographical spacial data information and provides GIS services such as query and searches to the global clients, has became one of the most important branches which develop the geographical information system. Forming the Internet-based information management and service system, efficiently utilizing the information technique, realizing the high-efficient information process and management policy have became the mostly concerned regions of geography.The main content of this thesis is about the research and development of the project of Gansu surveying and mapping data information delivery system based on WebGIS. First, several realizing techniques are compared according to their different principles and features. Second, the integrate application of the geographical spacial data in the system are introduced. Then the key techniques of the spacial data delivery system based on the WebGIS are presented. In this thesis, the author also introduces the system structure ,design principles, functional features, design methods of the spacial data delivery system based on the WebGIS software platform. The thesis also presents the system's realizing functional modules.The main achievements of this thesis are:1. The realizing techniques of the WebGIS ,the delivery methods and the realizing methods of the spacial data based on Mapguide platform are studied. The Mapguide has the advantage of supporting several types of vector and raster data, so using the net programming techniques such as Asp, JavaScript and the database techniques comprehensively, the author solves the technical problems of the multi-source data integration and the spacial metadata's organization, query and display.2. The author combines the metadata management system and the WebGIS technique with the research of the spacial metadata's contents, standard and the important function of the data delivery and share. How to realize the informational management of the surveying and mapping production is also researched.3. The Gansu surveying and mapping data information delivery system website is built and published in the Internet.The thesis draws a conclusion that the WebGIS technique is an effective method in publishing geographical spacial data and information share. The system's built has important meaning of stepping into an un-research region on publishing the Gansu surveying and mapping production through Internet. It also has important meaning of improving the foundation surveying and mapping production 's share and wide application. But, because of the lack of present data information and limited time, The basal data in the system needs to be enriched and the integrate management of the spacial data is insufficient. As the making of the metadata's standard and production 's digitalization, the information provided by the system will be enriched and renew and the clients can get better informational service.
