Agricultural resources are various resources that can be utilized when people engaged in agricultural activity, it is the combination of economical reproduction and natural reproduction, and is the foundation of the development of social economy. With the quick high-speed development of social economy and rapid increasing of the population, per capita agricultural resource is gradually decreasing. Meanwhile, the agricultural environment is degraded. How to optimize resource collocation and utilize agricultural resources rationally is very important to resolve the conflict between the environment, resources, disasters and people. However environmental resources spread over the earth surface, with the characters of complicated space-time change. Common techniques are very difficult to obtain the updating information, to predict and monitor them, which resulting in the passive phenomena. While agricultural information technology can be used to obtain the updated data of environmental resources, and to monitor their change in space and time scale. Only using this way, it is possible to change the passive postion of agricultural production at a certain extent.The foundation of agricultural information system is the outstanding development in agricultural information technology at present. It is a powerful system to generate new data sets using Geographical information technology (GIS), Global position system (GPS) and remote sensing (RS) techniques. On the other hand, it is an optimal technique to deal with a series of problems such as dispersive production, space-time variability and unpredicted disasters. Recently, there is increasing development in agricultural resource information system. Whereas, there are still many gaps compared with the achievements of the foreign countries. We only focused on the preliminary application in agriculture and secondary programmed at some platform.
