It's considered that the intelligent vehicle locating system is the typical represent of the new electronic product on the car, its application will has significant meaning to improve urban traffic condition, travel security and efficiency of road. With the development of the Global Positioning System (GPS), Geography Information System (GIS) and the General Packet Radio System (GPRS), all-weather locate system can be established.Based on the above techniques, the paper presented a technique scheme of GPS intelligent vehicle locating system based on GPRS. GPS receiver designed with the smart terminals and vehicle control computer electronic map system, uses GPRS for data communications, and achieves real-time positioning of the vehicles. The focal point of this paper is the research and the design of the car intelligent terminal circuit, the control program on MCU and map matching algorithms. And then the structure and function of each section is been analyzed in detail.With the hardware design and software programming the system could succeed in picking up the GPS positioning data and communicating with the monitor center computers by wireless. The algorithm of map matching used on computer monitor system is analyzed in detail. The positioning data is attempted to process with the method of the D-S evidence reasoning considering the road information of the digital maps, so that the positions of the cars could be guaranteed to display on the roads. The result of emulation and certification shows that the scheme is effective.
