The Construction Of 1: 1M Digital Geological Map Spatial Database Based On GIS

As the proceeding of the geological survey, a lot of achievements and developments had been obtained in the geological mapping and geosciences research since the latest geological survey in China., Especially in Tibet plateau and daxinganling area et al.. On the same time, the application of GIS provide technical support for the compilation of the 1:1M geological map and construction of the spatial database.Through the construction of the digital geological map database and combining geology, GIS and geological mapping, the 1:1M digital geological map database was built with MapGIS software and other database software, such as ArcInfo, Access et al.. The development for regional geological survey, especially 1:250000 geological mapping and thematic research performances provides a basis for geological survey data regular comprehensive, dynamic update and share. The progress includes five aspects as the following:1. On the basis of the compilation of 1:1M geographical map and construction of geographical map database, the methods that 1:1M topographic map data format were converted from ArcGIS into MapGIS was proposed.2.The elements of the 1:1M geographical map were layered, named for layer files and comprehensive compiled to massive data. It was made in order to meet the needs of the same scale geology map compilation.3.The geological map database were built by using GIS. Attribute structure and value of three elements which include geological body, geological line and geological point(drill, crater et al). were designed.4.Metadata which include 64 sheets and whole map of China were designed and suited for the character of 1:1M geological map. It provided a basis for share of 1:1M geological map.5.According to the requirement of construction of 1:1M geological map database, checking system for geological map database was developed based on MapGIS.
