Cadastral survey has a long history, which has a relationship with people's social and economic multi-aspects. PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) is a new born intelligent computer since 90s last century, it is a miniature of personal computer. Firstly, the state-of-art of cadastral management in China and aboard is introduced, and then kinds of data acquiring and management tools for cadastral investigation is introduced in this paper. With the development of information technology, the traditional methodology and instruments have been revolutionarily changing. PDA has been replacing other survey tools in the complex field cadastral data acquiring for its small and convenience. Modern survey techniques such as RS(remote sensing), GIS(geographical information system) and GPS(global positioning system) are combined into cadastral surveying. And then in this paper, the Author analyze systematically the relationships between PC, PDA and total station, and choose Embedded Visual C++ as the second develop tool, and design a cadastral data acquiring system preliminarily. Finally, after analyzing the systematic components, choosing systematic functional models, adopting proper database software which can make the data stored and transformed between different hardware and systems, the author approach a friendly interface for cadastral data processing system.The system has a good effect after being debugged.
