In the northern part of West Tianshan areas have rich characteristics of mineralization, deposits in the spatial distribution, time evolution and material composition are subject to regional structures, sedimentary, metamorphic and other factors, and show regularity. This region is an important mineralization concentrated areas of copper, gold and other non-ferrous metal in West Tianshan orogenic belts. Generally speaking, there have good geological conditions of mineralization and huge potential in West Tianshan; it is a favorable area to search porphyry copper deposits and broken-alteration type of gold deposits. Therefore, to select West Tianshan that adjacent of Central Asia as a study area has an important research value.In this paper, method of minerogenetic prediction based on digital geological map spatial database and GIS spatial analysis has been established in the West Tianshan, which is a rapid and effective method of mineral resources prediction in big scale area that study level relatively lower. Based on ArcGIS 9.2 platform support, using 9 scan pictures of 1:200000 scale geological maps of West Tianshan in Xinjiang, reference national digital geological map spatial database standards (DD2006-06) accordance with unified standards and planning rules to construct digital geological mineral database of West Tianshan area, digitalized paper maps to storage, achieving the original information of map objectively digitalized, uniform classified, integrat storaged and managed, provided an effective platform of data support for basic geological research and gold, copper deposit prediction of West Tianshan area. At last, Combined weight of evidence method to calculate favorable mineralization related to higher degree of evidence, extracting ore-controlling stratum and tectonic which have large contribution, to establish regional exploration model.At last, extracting ore-controlling stratum and tectonic which have large contribution basically matched with former geological study results, verified the regional exploration model is correct, and found some new higher degree of favorable stratum and structure mineralization related of West Tianshan, Standardized contrast S (C) as a measure of indicators to ensure the accuracy of evidence factor extract and to predict mineralization province. And guaranteed the correctness and completeness of spatial analysis, result of evidence weights calculation. New ideas and research methods are provided for geological research and mineral prospecting of the region, and also provided method reference for large areas of gold and copper mineral resources forecasting.
