The 3-D GIS Development Technology Research Based On SketchUp And ArcGIS

The 3-D GIS is one of the trends of the GIS development.Different from 2-D GIS,3-D GIS provides users more realistic feelings about the representation of objective world.It demonstrates more realistic phenomenon of geographic space with 3-D modeling technology.Not only the horizontal relationships of spatial objects are represented,but the vertical relationships of them are also described and represented.Moreover,it has unique functions of viewing,analyzing and operating on spatial objects under a three-dimensional system.This thesis took a depth analysis in the current development of the 3-D GIS,summarized and classified the main applications of the current 3-D data model,and comparatively analyzed of the different 3-D data models in the advantages and disadvantages aspects.And detailed studied the format of 3-D model,presented the ArcGIS 3-D data model-MultiPatch format,simulated and builded different MultiPatch data model through ArcObjects components interface and studied the conversion of other 3-D data formats and MultiPatch format.Based on the lackage of the 3-D model process and the realistic feelings in 3-D GIS software and the weak of the GIS function in 3-D modeling software,the author put forward a technical line called SketchUp to implement 3-D Scene modeling with the Batch processing 2-D GIS data and implements 3-D Scene Drive with the secondary development of ArcGIS platform.At the end of the thesis,a prototype 3-D GIS system is developed,using 2-D vector data of a test area.By importing SketchUp software,a more realistic of 3-D model is builded by rendered, combined with ArcGIS software development platform(ArcGIS Engine) drive to achieve three-dimensional scenes.Ultimately established a 3-D test GIS system to meet the requirements of three-dimensional visualization and spatial analysis.There are 4 innovative aspects of the research:firstly,it used the combination using of SketchUp and ArcGIS software platform to create 3-D GIS systems,so the interaction could have a Batch processing of 2-D GIS data to generate 3-D models.secondly,it put forward a way of shadow analysis of the remote sensing by using SketchUp software to obtain a rough 2-D image features in elevation information;thirdly,through scenes based on the ArcGIS platform drive to solve the problem of 3-D model in 3-D scene which can only show but not query and editor,fourthly,it introduced the 360-degree panoramic technical into the 3-D GIS systems,with minimal system resources consumption,better internal construction of the real 3-D display.
