Because the reserves of frontier areas in Liaohe oilfield is decreasingly, redevelopment of maturing field has became one of the major methods to maintain the production capacity. Gao 1 block has some characteristics, eg., lithologic particular, burial deep, viscosity high and diverse. If it is developed by vertical wells, the degree of reserve recovery will be lower. Thus the choice of development mode is very important.However, horizontal well can not only raise the producibility, but also save the cost and increase economic effect. At present, horizontal well is applied in some types reservoirs, especially in heavy oil resevoir, bottom water drive reservoir and so on., and as a new technology for redevelopment of maturing field.In the paper, Gao 1 block is the research object in Liaohe oilfield. The comprehensive geology and reservoir characteristics have been studied based on the investigation of development mode of deep and heavy oil block. And then a geologic reservoir model was constructed. The numerical modeling method and analogy method have been used to optimize the development mode of cyclic steam injection in horizontal well for redevelopment, and explore the developing method of the high water cut and deep heavy oil reservoir by horizontal well.Three operative horizontal wells have proved to perform effectively till now. And the combination use of cyclic steam injection and waterflooding in horizontal well has been a new technology for redevelopment of deep and heavy oil reservoir in Liaohe oilfield.
