Shengtuo area is located in the north of Dongying Depression,where abundant glutenite bodies have developed from Es4 formation to middle Es3 formation. Based on the integrated use of seismic,logging data,core sample and other material, with the guidance of sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology and reservoir geology, sedimentary characteristics, distribution, reservoir characteristics and controlling factors of glutenite in middle Es3-Es4 formation in Shengtuo area have been studied.Palaeogeomorphology of Shengtuo area has the characteristics of groove beam alternating,the corresponding between channel and fan. In north steep slope of Dingying Depression, four ditches and five beams existed from west to east. Corresponding to the diches is the development of four large fan groups. From west to east,four fan groups are Fan-Tuo-west, Fan-Tuo104-Tuo126,Fan-Tuo75-Tuo125 and Fan-Tuo105-Tuo121. With the use of three-dimensional seismic data of Shengtuo area , through geological interpretation and seismic synthetic records calibration, eight periods of glutenite bodies can be identified in the middle Es3-Es4 formation in the research area.Glutenite bodies from period 1 to period 7 are mainly nearshore subaqueous fans, and fan dalta are well developed in period 8. Two types of sedimentay models have been set up according to the the sedimentay characteristics of the two facies.One is narrow and steep binary steps glutenite model tipically developed on and the uplifted side of Tuo94 Fault, the other is wide and gentle binary steps glutenite model tipically developed on the uplifted side of Shengbei Fault. Glutenite bodies developed on narrow and steep binary steps are characterised by small expanded range, low compositional maturity, and reservoir property is poor. Glutenite bodies developed on wide and gentle binary steps have the characteristics of wide expanded range, high compositional maturity, and reservoir property is good.In plane view, effective reservoir levels of Tuo West fan, Tuo 75 - 125 fan , Tuo 104- Tuo 126 fan and Tuo 105- Tuo 121 fan gradually increased from west to east; vertically, and the Q1 to Q7 effective reservoir of near-shore subaqueous fan increased percentages by layers. The difference between the reservoir rock composition,sedimentary facies distribution and degree of cementation are the main controlling factors of the fan in the horizontal direction; Compaction and cementation degree is the main factors of vertical impact of time between the effective reservoirs. By the discussion of the effective controlling factors, sedimentary facies are the main factors of reservoir development in the region , and the diagenetic stage is the secondary factor.
