Cyclone separator, which makes use of the centrifugal force generated by the dusty gas to separate the dust from the gas flow, is dry-type gas-solid separation equipment. It is common used in chemical industry, metallurgy industry and mechanical engineering because of its simple structure and stable performance. Nevertheless, due to the long distance of the gas flow and high pressure descend, it is necessary to investigate the flow field, pressure descend and dust separating efficiency in further. After that, some new type cyclone separator can be developed. In this thesis, the numerical simulation of aerodynamics performance for a cyclone separator is carried out according to the measurements and dimensions of the structure. The design and the performance prediction are analyzed and the improvement of design idea is proposed. The work finished from the thesis is as follow:(1) The resistance characteristic and the dust separate efficiency in different dust diameters in a certain working condition are acquired based on the numerical simulation of the original model.(2) According to result analysis of original model numerical simulation, four improved structures are proposed. And the result of the simulation reveals that the performance of the improved models behavior better.(3) The resistance characteristic of the cellular net and holes system in second stage cyclone dust separating system is got by numerical simulation. In addition, the poronsmedium boundary conditions takes the place of the structure of the cellular net and holes system to be used to the numerical simulation of the overall cyclone separator.(4) The dust separate efficiencies to different dust diameters in the same work condition are measured for a multiple stage cyclone separator. And it is verified the reliability of the numerical simulation.
