The flow in the diffusible cyclone separator is extremely complex gas-solid strongly swirling flow, and the study of diffusible cyclone is relatively less at present. The paper uses the method that uniting numerical simulation with experimental verification, to research the separation performance of diffusible cyclone separator. The specific work are as follows:The physical model of diffusible cyclone separator is built by increasing the length of exit of the separator, and assuming particles amount and speed enter the separator keep constant. Basing on the CFD simulation software Fluent, the gas-particle mathematic model of the separator is gained, which provides the conditions for the numerical simulation.The he pressure loss and separation efficiency are the most direct effects to evaluate the performance of separator. Basing on the physical model and mathematical model, the speed field and pressure field and turbulent structure are researched with a numerical simulation of the gas phase in the cyclone. Studying the distribution in micro field and analyzing the relationship between the flow field and separation performance.Adopt DPM model, numerical simulation are taken about major structural parameters which affect the separator's separation properties, obtaining the relation curves between separator's reflecting cone's structure, diameter and insert depth of vent-pipe and height of diffusion part and pressure loss and separation efficiency characteristics.In addition, the main operation parameters which affect the separator separation properties are also studied by numerical simulating, obtaining the relation curves between the separator inlet's speed, the particle concentration at entrance, and infection of positions of particles entering in to the pressure loss and separation efficiency characteristics.Through experiments about diffusible cyclone separator's separation properties and analyzing the results of experiments, different speed and particle concentration about the separator's separation properties are proved. The results indicate that the maximum error between the experiments data and numerical simulation are less than 10%.The research results will provides guiding significance for the engineering design of the diffusible cyclone separator.
