In this work, thirteen new sulfates have been synthesized under hydrothermal and solvothermal conditions: thirteen new lanthanide (Ho, Sm, Eu, Nd,Tb) sulfates templated by ethylenediamine (en), dimethylamine and diethylenetriamine have been prepared, which show the 1D beeline-chains, 2D layered and 3D porous structures. The ways of analysis include single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analyses, IR spectrum, TG/DTA, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) , SEM analysis and fluorescence analysis.(1) The compound [C4H16N3]6[Sm4F2(SO4)14] (1) has been successfully synthesized using diethylenetriamine (DETA) as the template under solvothermal conditions;The compounds [C6N4H22]1.5[Ho2(SO4)6·(H2O)] (2), [C2H8N][Ho(SO4)2·H2O] (3), [C4N3H16][Ho(SO4)3·2H2O] (4) have been synthesized by using diethylenetriamine, dimethylamine as the SDA; The compounds [Ho2(SO4)3·(H2O)4] (5), [C2N2H10]1.5[Ho(SO4)3·H2O] (6), [(C4N3H16)][Ln(SO4)3(H2O)] (Ln=Ho, Eu, Sm, Tb ) (7)-(10) and [C6N4H22]0.5Cl[Eu(SO4)·2H2O] (11) have been synthesized by using ethylenediamine (en), dimethylamine and diethylenetriamine as SDA. The structure of compound (1) consists of a novel isolated large Z-type heteropolyanion [Sm4F2(SO4)14]18- and full protonated organic amine cations. The structural analysis reveals that compound (2), (3) and (4) represent a novel organic templated holmium sulfate with 1D structure, while compound (5) is the first example of holmium sulfate. Compound (6) is the first ethylene diammonium templated holmium sulfate by using isopropyl alcohol as solvent with novel 2D structrue. The compound (7) - (10) represent a novel 2D helical structure by using organic template. The compound (11) is europium sulfate chloride by using diethylenetriamine as SDA.(2) Two 3D inorganic frameworks of compound (12) and (13) with both right-handed and left-handed helical chains are formed in presence of ethylenediamine under solvothermal conditions.
