In accordance with the features of raw silk filament as a kind of natural fibre, the questions in the size which is the indirect index of the fineness of raw silk filament are analized; a new viewpoint using the section area , which is the direct index of the filament, to measure the fineness of raw silk filament is put forward. The dynamic computer measurement system on the fineness of raw silk filament is designed and developed, some initial measuring experiments and studies are accomplished.In this dynamic computer measurement system, a cool light source is used to light the filament, microscopy imaging technology, CCD imaging technology, float threshold technology, binarization image signal manipulation technology, single chip micro computer technology, and computer interface technology etc. are applied. The section area of the filament is measured dynamically, the fineness and its related indexes can be measured.In this thesis, the operational principle, hardware structure, the software design and so on are expounded. The system is proved to be rational and feasible by experimental results.
