The deviation of raw silk fineness is an important indicator to measure the quality of raw silk, which largely determines the level of raw silk and a variety of processing properties, directly affects the quality and value of fabric. With the development of technology, the current problems in Denier management and the changes in testing standards for raw silk, the demand for control of raw silk size has become increasing. In this paper, modern photoelectric-sensor technology, wireless network technology, automatic detection technology and computer technology are used to develop a real-time and wireless monitoring system for raw silk reeling. The improved laboratory-made dynamic size tester for raw silk is adopted to measure the diameter of the reeling wet silk. By choosing a reliable NI WLS series of wireless transmission equipment for data transmission and acquisition, it is to avoid a large number of wiring for real-time acquisition in the factory and realize the long-distance monitoring.By fitting the curve for voltage values of silk size measured with the improved dynamic size tester and data of silk diameter with Leica microscope, the conversion relationship between the voltage value and the diameter data was obtained. Then the changes in the size of reeling raw silk were analyzed through the curves. Moreover, according to the factory investigation a set of statistics system was designed for cocoon numbers management. Based on the curves of raw silk size, the end feeding period was conducted for a preliminary study and the law of miss feeding and multi-feeding was found.
