In this paper, we synthesized a new series of silver(1) acetylides by electrochemical technique with 2-methyl-3-butyl-2-ol, and the crystal structure of [Ag4{C~CC(OH)Me2}4{P(NEt2)3}2] has been determined, which gives a deeper insight into not only the electrochemical method, but the factors dictating the structure of silver(I) acetylides. Another series of silver(I) complexes containing malononitrile have also been prepared by the same method, and the crystal structure of [Ag(PPh3)3(NCCHCN)j CH3CN indicates that the IINCCHCNI[ group coordinates to the silver atom in a very novel mode. All the complexes were characterized by the means of elemental analysis, IR spectra, and NMR(扝,?C). The electrochemical mechanisms were briefly discussed as well.
