A study based on the separation of tall oil with supercritical carbon dioxide extraction was carried out. The author found the optimum extractive condition of the acid of tall oil at the feasible temperature, pressure, flux of carbon dioxide and time, analyzed the acid and confirmed their composition. Besides, this dissertation also studied extraction and refinement of phytosterol, and got the high purity β -sitosterol.The main research and results as follows:1. The extractive matter and remaining were gained from tall oil by supercritical carbon dioxide. The factors of influence in supercritical carbon dioxide extraction were temperature ., pressure, flux of carbon dioxide and time, every factor was studied in different conditions, and the author confirmed that the primary factor was pressure, the subordinate was temperature. The optimum condition of extraction was determined as follows: (1) the temperature was 35℃; (2) the pressure was 25MPa;(3)the flux of carbon dioxide was 20kg/h; (4)the time was 60min.2. The author analyzed the extractive matter, and confirmed their acid number was 161.8-169.6, the content of resin acid was 9.0%-12.5%and the content of fatty acid was 80.4-85.6%.3. The coarse unsaponification was gained by the remaining of supercritical extraction via saponification, solvent extraction, wash, desiccation and solvent reclaim. After dissolution,, filtration and solvent reclaim, pure unsaponification was gained. The quality of phytosterol was 1.05-1.21g from per 100g tall oil. The purity of β-sitosterol can be attained 93.0% by refinement.4. The dissertation studied firstly the separation of tall oil with supercritical carbon dioxide extraction in China. The research results demonstrated that the method of supercritical carbon dioxide extraction was feasible. This research provided a new technics method of separation of industry tall oil, established a suitable process parameter, and afforded experiment foundations that used in industrialization of separation from the supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. The research results have more high applied value.
