Plant growth regulator is one of the important parts of the Pesticides, it is used to act on the crops themselves directly and controls their growth on people's wills. We have introduced substituted aryloxyacetic acid (or substituted aromatic acid), as an important growth regulator, into the compounds we would synthesize, and expected to find some compounds have good plant growth regulating activities. In this thesis, we have designed and synthesized 30 new compounds of three series and we have studied the synthesis methods, and improved on the synthesis method of substituted aryloxyacetic acid. Their structures have been conformed by IR, 1HNMR, MS and elementary analysis. The test of their biological activities shows that some of them have good plant growth regulanting activities.Acidamides have extensive biological activities, they have been used as insecticide, herbicide, fugicide, plant growth regulator and so on. Multiamine is also a sort of plant growth regulating substance. Throngh combining this two structures, We have designed the compounds of the first serie: I: Polymethylene-bis-aroyl (aryloxyacetyl) thiourea derivativesTaking PEG-600 as catalyst, this serie of compounds were synthesized by phase transfer catalysis . Compared with the classical method of the synhesis of acylthioureas, this method has many advantages such as mild reacting conditions, convenient operation, high yield and so on .So it is a good way for the synthesis of acylthioureasSubstituted aryloxyacetyls have extensive biological activities , and also are an important plant growh substance, through introducing this structure into the compounds. We have designed the second serie of compounds, comparing the biological activities of them with the first serie of compounds, so we have designed the compounds of the second serie:II: Polymethylene-bis- acyl-bis-amino thiourea derivativeswe have synthesized this serie of compounds by solvent CH3CN refluxing.In addtion, some of the aryloxyacetyl derivatives have extensive biological activities, if we introduce two aryloxyacetyl structures into a molecule, the plant growth regulating activities of the aim compounds will strengthened drastly, so we have designed the third serie of compounds:III: N, N'- diaryl-1,4- phenylenedioxydithiourea derivativesWe have used a rapid synthetic method for reparation of 1, 4-phenylenedioxydiacetic acid, it shortened the reaction time , raised the yield .simplified the post-treatment and then wve have used the 1, 4-phenedioxydiacetic as the middle product, taking PEG-600 as catalyst, this serie of compounds were synthesized by phase transfer catalysis.The structures of these three series of compounds have been confirmed by IR, 1HNMR. MS and elementary analysis . The datum of these spectra have been analysed.In addtion, the activities of these compounds as plant growth regulators have been tested by the metheds of wheat sprout and sheath, cucumber cotyledan and cucumber striking root. The result shows the compounds I1, I4, I10, II1, II4,III3,III4,III7,III11 have good plant growth regulating activities.
