This research project is a key branch of the Ninth-five-year Plan of Yunnan (NFYPY), which mainly focuses on bio-purifying waste gas in rubber regeneration process (BPWGRRP). This thesis lays heavy stress on design principles and methods of BPWGRRP, and forms a series of design blueprints and datum. It also prepares a reliable basis for the future industrial application.This thesis is mainly concerns on the design, operation, and economic status of the waste gas treat equipment in Yanglin reclaimed rubber factory (RRF), which annually yields 5000 ton reclaimed rubber. Using the dynamic desulfurization process, the rubber powder was put in the desulfurization pot (DP) for nearly four hours, keeping the pressure at 19kg/cm2 and temperature at 230 centigrade. Before taking the rubber powder out, a great amount of waste gas outburst of the DP and then the pressure in the DP decreased to normal level. Analyzed by gas phase chromatographic detection, this kind of gas contains Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as benzene, toluene, xylene, alkyl and a small part of organic sulfur compounds. The toluene concentration of the waste gas is ranged from 300mg/L to 1400mg/L.Based on the characteristics of rubber regeneration waste gas, we determined that the treatment process is composed of gas container, settling tank, oil remover, gas condenser and biofilm packing tower. Among those units, the biofilm packing tower is the most important equipment, in which the gas contacts media in the tower and being purified by the biofilm sticking on it. In this thesis, proper parameters are carefully selected. Precised calculation and detailed drawings are displayed. It makes BPWGRRP design changed from experience to mature and standard.On the account of operation status for several months, we can safely say that the series equipment kept high pollutant-removal efficiency above85%. The outlet gas can achieve the integrated emission standard of air pollutants. This project went through the checking by local environmental agency soon.The economical assessment shows that the total investment of the series equipment is 278,000 RMB. And the operation fee is ll,500RMB/a, which is only 0.04% of gross product value of the factory.This thesis also discusses the design of the series BPWGRRP equipment of the different RRF which yields 10000t/a and 20000t/a reclaimed rubber each. Among the three different scale series equipments, the economical assessment shows that, compared with the total investment, the 10000t/a waste gas treatment equipment is relatively cheap. However, the total cost fee and operation fee are decreased accompany with the produce scale.In general, bio-purifying waste gas that generated in the rubber regeneration process can achieve the integrated emission standard of air pollutants. Compared with other treatment methods, bio-purifying method needs less total investment and operation fee. It will be widely used and have a bright future.
