Machining center's geometric accuracy is the key to guarantee the processing accuracy of machine tool. The testing of geometric accuracy is the base of testing machining center's straightness accuracy. In new state standard << Machining center testing items - Accuracy testing >> [ refering to ISO/DIS10791] , issued in 1999, the test of straightness accuracy has been changed. Now it becomes more scientific and reasonable. In old state standard, the testing of straightness accuracy of kinetic part only focus on vertical and' horizontal plane, and it only includes two linear errors; but in new state standard, we not only measure those two linear errors, but also measure the errors of pitching, deflecting, and inclining of the kinetic part, so it includes two linear errors and three angle errors. Now, our country is in the term of adjustive phase of carrying out new state standard, those five geometric errors only can be measured one by one with different implements, so it will waste lots of time; use great effort and easily make mistakes. By contrast with some foreign countries, such as USA, UK and so on, those countries had carried out new ISO standard for a period of time, so they have developed special implements to measure those five errors, like 6D/LMS created in USA. Those implements have greatly improved the testing efficiency of Machining center's geometric accuracy.My task includes two parts. The first part is to demonstrate the feasibility of the testing concept. This concept is to measure those five errors with five high precision linear volue sensors in same time.The second part is to develop a new special implement according to the above concept .The testing implement is composed of clamp and date collecting system. The clamp is designed with the soft of SOLIDWORK; and date collecting is composed of MCS-51 singlechip and IBM-PC. IBM-PC acts as higher-up administrant computer; and MCS-51 singlechip acts as lower lever gauger. Thedate acquired from singlechip will be sent to the high-up administrant computer. In computer, those date will be processed and displayed and so on. Finally, the total testing process is simulated in computer.
