In the thesis, the current status and development tendency of carving and milling machine are investigated. The developing object of CNC system for carving and milling machine is determined. The work principle of carving and milling machine and its CNC system based on an unique PC platform are studied and developed. The structure and configuration of software and hardware of the CNC system GL2000M, which is developed by us are introduced. Several key techniques of carving and milling machine CNC system are deeply studied They include: The transformation, data rebuild and interface design of huge volume NC program produced by CAM; The algorithm of cubic parametric spline pre_ interpolation and high speed real time interpolation in the CNC system, which.will gain a much higher surface precision and cutting speed; Methodology and algorithm of movement velocity acceleration control on a real time forecast_ and_ prejudge basis is designed. Therefore, a smooth movement is insured. The shake and noise problem caused by non_uniform pules for driving stepping or servo motor is solved by an improving algorithm to generate uniform pules ..At the end of the thesis, the tendency of CNC system is discussed, and some further R&D topics for carving and milling CNC system are suggested.
