Numerical control technology has obtained development at very fast speed since twenty centuries ninety years. At the same time, NC system has tended towards open architecture from close architecture. But ONS (Open NC System) still exists many deficiencies at present in our country. For example, DOS operation system has been applied as a operation platform in the mass of ONC, so it is difficult to realize multi-task operating and the graph function of tools track simulation is not good enough. Although Windows has been adopted as operating platform in some ONS, the deficiencies of DOS platform have been remedied, but the real-time ability of these systems are not high enough.In view of the problems of the above-mentioned, in this paper it is researched as an item tackling key problem of science and technology that is named exploitation on ONS based on DSP technology and Windows platform, which is ratified by Guangxi Science and Technology Office in 2003. In this paper the author has researched one sub rubric of the item, which is called study and exploitation on the real-time control subsystem of ONS's down location device. The general technology scheme of the item is made up of IPC, movement controller with DSP and AC servo driving system. The MCT8000F4 movement controller produced by Moxin Corporation is choosed as the core hardware of the scheme. Because the key technologies have been applied in this paper, which include collecting of real-time data, real-time montitoring, PLC controlling by software and programming skills of C language etc., besides the unified communication agreement is stipulated and the real-time control software of the down location device is designed, ttechnology problems such as initializing of hardware and communicating between movement controller and IPC have been solved. So the exploited ONS can realize following real-time control functions that are input and output among the operating pan, the movement controller and machine tool, identifying of NC codes compiled by up location device, vector interpolating of line and arc, controlling of speed-up and speed-down, position controlling of machine tool, PLC controlling all kinds of auxiliary operations, self-diagnosis of movement controller and so on.Because DSP in MCT8000F4 movement controller can realize high speed operation and real-time interpolation, the system exploited in this paper has higher real-time ability. After the movement controller finishes the receiving of all NC code compiled and transported by up location device, it can independently finish the real-time control task of NC machining without IPC. That is to say when IPC is proceeding NC machining, it also can carry out other programming task of NC machining or other processing task.
