Computer Numerical Control Technology has ever been developed under MS-DOS operation system where the current computer acts as the center of system. But it exists much shortage in many aspects such as development in long periods,had expanded function,heavy programming task,unfriendly interface and so on. With the rapid development of computer software and hardware technology,the numerical control system,which should be operated on WINDOWS/NT,is great in need.It is known that WINDOWS/NT operation system can not do well in real time. So the problem on how to implement the open numerical control system have puzzled many engineers.Based on demands and characteristics of the numerical control system developed on WINDOWS/NT,the article has researched on hardware management,message circulation and response,DLL and interrupt descriptor list. Further more,various possibilities are discussed on real time functions and several schemes are analyzed in theory and tested in practice.The Open Numerical Control System is a kind of advanced structure with excellent extension,convenient maintenance,and good stability in operating. It is also flexibly accommodated with different requirement.The PMAC movement controller with many axes is considered as CNC module card deposited in computer. The function module is involved in background management and communication,proscenium PLC and logic control,profile-modeling data gather.There is great change on one huge wainscot-milling machine,which has been left unused for many years. Finally the numeric control system is successfully achieved on WINDOWS/NT operation flat.
