The updating of NC technology has been promoting continually with development of computer technology. At present, the Open NC system that is based on PC and motion controller with DSP has become a tendency of NC systems. With improving of computer algorithm speed, some high-speed algorithms that must be done in special processors (such as DSP) previously can be implemented by software on PC with high performance now. Just on this technology background, the assume on the NC machining simulation based on virtual DSP is firstly proposed in this dissertation, and it has been researched and developed that a simulation software based on virtual DSP for machining of Open NC system. The item researched and developed is a part of the project named Development of Open NC System Based on DSP Technology and Windows Platform, which is one of the important science and technology projects of Guangxi Science Office in 2003.In this dissertation the author analyses firstly the tasks and work theory of NC system based on PC and motion controller with DSP, then progresses the works that was researched and developed on Windows platform of PC and programmed in Visual C++, which are the interpolation operating for virtualDSP, the digital I/O logic processing with soft PLC, the creation of the dynamic coordinate data of machining motion points and refurbishing the digital I/O signals etc. Due to applications of the key technologies which include the communications of memory mapping files, the processing of FIFO buffer, the algorithms for projecting perspective, the high precision timing in VC++ and the programming in multithread-programming etc, the weak real-time property of windows has been fetched up, and the real-time requirement of NC system has been satisfied. The simulation software has been debugged successfully, and has implemented 3D figure simulation and three views simulation of NC machining tool's locus without any motion controller. In addition, the multi-view simulation interface based on tabbed views technology and control interfaces board are compact, beautiful, and convenient for control, which makes it possible that both machining tool's locus simulating and displaying the current state of the milling machine by means of text can be shown on PC screen at the same time.The NC machining simulation software based on virtual DSP, be narrated in this dissertation, not only can be applied in real NC systems to enhance its simulation performance, shorten the period of checking NC code before machining and improve the utilization ratio of NC machine tool, but also can be used as the teaching software of NC machining simulation.
