In this paper, a series of novel transition metal complexes of 4-acylpyrazolone derivatives were synthesized via reacting between organic ligands and acetate of transition metal under the conditions of the low heating solid-state reactions and the liquid-state reactions. The paper consists of two parts. In the first part, the transition metal complexes of N-(1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzal- pyrazol-5-one-[p-nitrobenzoylhydrazide-(PMBP-PNBH),N-(1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzal-pyrazol-5-one)-isonicotinoylhydrazine(PMBP-INTH)and N-(1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzal-pyrazol-5-one)- salicylal hydrazine(PMBP-SAL)were synthesized on the low heating solid-state reaction and the liquid-state reaction, respectively. Many analyzing methods were used to characterize the products and both difference and sameness among them were compared. To identify the accurate structure of the complexes, the single crystals of [Cu(PMBP-PNBH)·MeOH]2·2MeOH and [Mn(PMBP- PNBH)·2MeOH]2·2MeOH were obtained and the structure were determined by the single crystal X-ray diffraction. The results show that even though under same ligand and conditions of reaction, the coordination model on different transition metal is different: the complex of Cu(II) is pent-coordionated square pyramidal and that of Mn(II) is hexcoordionated distorted octahedron. In the second part, the transition metal complexes of N-(1-phenyl-3-methyl- 4-chlorethyldene-pyrazol-5-one-[p-nitrobenzoylhydrazide-(PMCP-PNBH) and N-(1-phenyl-3- methyl-4-chlorethyldene-pyrazol-5-one)-isonicotinoylhydrazine(PMCP-INTH) were synthesized under the conditions of the low heating solid-state reactions and the liquid-state reactions. Comparing the differences between them, the result were concluded that the molecular formula of products by the low heating solid-state reaction were consistent with ML·2OAc and the molecular formula of products by liquid-state reaction were consistent with M2L2·ROH or ML2.
