The drag reduction agent (DRA) that we have studied is a kind of ultra-high molecular polymers. The friction resistance can be decreased when DRA is added into the oil transportation pipes. That can save energy, having the important economic meaning.In this paper, we have studied the produce process of using a-alkene as material to synthesize DRA. The experiments were done on the middle experiment equipment that can produce 30 tons DRA every year. The process is batch reaction, including two steps. The first step is pre-reaction in reactor I for 30 minuts. The second step is chain-going up stage in reactor II for 20 hours. The paper introduced the produce status, the value for the capability of DRA and the optimization for process. We investigated the effects of feeding temperature, reaction temperature, pressure and other factors. The optimun parameters have been obtained.The average reducing rate of new products comes to 45%. It is better than old products. The cost may decrease 30% than American products. This research provided guarantee for industrialized producing of DRA .
