The Drag Reduction Agent (DRA) that we have studied is a kind of ultra-high molecular polymers. The friction resistance can be decreased when DRA is added into the oil transportation pipes. That can save energy, having the important economic meaning. At the same time, more and more researchers attach importance to drag reduction agents . In this paper, the author briefly introduces the development of drag reduction all over the world and the polymerization method of drag reduction agent and the mechanism of drag reduction. Moreover, the procedure that usingα-olefin as material to synthesize DRA and the apparatus and the capability of DRA have been introduced. The most part of this paper discuss The paper is used some empirical equation to get Re w,τw,γw,ηw and fw。It discuss the relation ofηw , Rew , fw and DR%. Then conclude the equation between Rew and fw:On these basics, the effects of the characteristics of polymers on drag reduction result are studied further. Density of particle and concentration of particle are obtained through viscosimetry. The results show: characteristic viscosity is smaller, density is higher, concentration of particle is lower , and molecular weight is higher, so drag reduction results is better.Drag reduction efficiency and capability to resist shearing of polymers were evaluated by detailed evaluation apparatus. polymers could be dissolved well in diesel oil and used in transportation of crude oil.
