According to the guide of the environmental impact assessment and the technical report of NTIS on screening smoke, the atmospheric environmental impact assessment of screening smoke was studied in the paper. A predict program for atmospheric diffusion of screening smoke was deduced. An atmospheric diffusion model named smokeEIA for the atmospheric environmental impact assessment of screening smoke was set up and validated by experiments. On the basis of the theory of the smoke rising height and a number of experiments, the rising height formula of screening smoke was deduced and validated by experiments. The atmospheric environmental impact assessment of screening smoke was undertaken by using smokeEIA modle, which included analysis of toxicity and health impact of the smoke products and the prediction of the impact. Comparing the capability of screening between environmental smoke and HC smoke. A conclusion was drawn that the environmental smoke is less toxic and corrosive and better than HC smoke in far infrared and screening time.
