Oil pump unit are the key instrument of crude oil transportation system. It is fateful for the enterprise working order that these equipments can be running at safety. Monitoring pumps in security with real time reflecting the status of pumps at work and fault diagnosis with scientific analysis, are the trend of modern manufacturing and technology.This paper designs a system of condition monitoring and fault diagnosis based on Virtual Instrument. Using NI data acquiring and signal processing modules,this system can be used to monitor the signals of vibration,axial displacement and temperature of the 9 pumps. The fault or potential fault can be diagnosed by analyzing the data of vibration and temperature with many methods. Based on the LabVIEW, the system is exploited for pump units online monitoring and long-distance fault diagnosis in the intranet. The emphasis of this paper is focus on design and realization of the system. The paper introduces the selections of structure and equipments of the system, and expatiates execution and debugging at the locale. The software of the system is comprised of 3 sections and they can accomplish the assignments of real-time monitoring, long-distance monitoring and fault diagnosis.With this system, pumps unit can be monitoring in advance and fault can be diagnosed; and it can assure that the pump unit can run safely and achieve predictive maintenance.
