Organotin compounds are widely used as biocides, coatings for ship, heat stabilizer for PVC plastic and homogeneous catalyst in organic reaction. Since organotin complexes were found be of strong antitumour activities, there has been growing interest in the synthesis and biological activity of novel organotin complexes. In recent years, there are more and more reports that organotin complexes were used as neutral carries for anions recognition. It has been a new domain with widely developing prospect among metal organic chemistry, chemical sensor and even more other subjects. In this paper, tribenzyltin chloride, triphenzyltin chloride, dibenzyltin dichloride reacted with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde, 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldhyde, 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde, 2-hydroxyacetophenone, 2,4-hydroxylacetophenone, acetoacetyl ferrocene respectively to give sixteen novel heterocyclic organotin complexes, their anion recognition characteristics were also studied. The four main parts in this paper were as follows:(1) Tribenzyltin chloride reacted with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde, 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde, 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde, 2-hydroxyacetophenone and 2,4-dihydroxyacetophenone respectively to give five novel pentacoordinated heterocyclic organotin compounds. Their structures were confirmed by IR, ~1H NMR, mass spectra and elemental analysis. Their anion response characteristics have been investigated. Effect of the structures of the carriers on the response characteristics towards anions has been discussed based on the experimental results.(2) Five novel pentacoordinated triphenzyltin compounds were first synthesized by the reaction of triphenzyltin chloride with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde, 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde, 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde, 2-hydroxyacetophenone and 2,4-dihydroxyacetophenone respectively. Their structures were also characterized by IR, ~1H NMR, mass spectra and elemental analysis. They all were found to be pentacoordinated compounds.(3) Di(2-hydroxybenzaldehyde) dibenzyltin, di(2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde) dibenzyltin, di(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde) dibenzyltin, di(2-hydroxyacetophenone) dibenzyltin and di(2,4-dihydroxyacetophenone) dibenzyltin have been synthesized in our laboratory. Their structures were confirmed by IR, ~1H NMR, mass spectra and elemental analysis. These complexes were found to be six-coordinated.(4) Acetyl ferrocene was synthesized by the reaction of ferrocene with acetic anhydride in the presence of phosphoric acid, it reacted with ethyl acetate to give acetoacetyl ferrocene. A novel organotin compound, acetoacetyl ferrocene tribenzyltin was synthesized by the reaction of acetoacetyl ferrocene with tribenzyltin chloride. Its...
