Design and synthesis of high-selectivity anti-Hofmeister pattern anion selective electrodes has been one of the important area in the research of chemical sensors. Compared with the classic solvent polymer membrane ion-selective electrodes based on ion-exchange reagents, the electrodes based on organometallic compounds and metal complexes show higher selectivity and sensitivity. Organotin(â…£) compounds contained double bonds of Schiff base always possess anti-tumour bioactivity. Hexacyclic organotin complexes were also used as neutral carriers in the anion-selective electrodes. In this paper, three series of heterocyclic hexa-coordinated organotin(â…£) Schiff base complexes have been synthesized, its anion recognition properties was also investigated.1) Eight novel Schiff bases have been synthesized by the condensation reaction of p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, o-vanillin, 2,4-dihydroxy-acetophenone, 2,4-dihydroxy benzaldehyde with ethylene diamine, o-phenylene diamine in ethanol respectively.2) Dibenzyltin dichloride has been synthesized by the literature method. Eight novel heterocyclic hexacoordinate benzyltin(â…£) complexes have been synthesized by the reaction of dibenzyltin dichloride with the above novel Schiff bases in inert solvent.3) Diphenyltin dichloride has been synthesized by the literature method. Eight novel heterocyclic hexacoordinate phenyltin(â…£) complexes have been synthesized by the reaction of diphenyltin dichloride with the above novel Schiff bases in inert solvent.4) Di-n-butyltin dichloride has been synthesized by the literature method. Eight novel heterocyclic hexacoordinate di-n-butyltin(â…£) complexes have been synthesized by the reaction of di-n-butyltin dichloride with the above novel Schiff bases in inert solvent.5) The PVC membrane electrode incorporating bis-(o-vanillin)-semi-ethylene-diamino dibenzyltin(VEDBT) as a neutral carrier was assembled. The anion recognition characteristics of heterocyclic hexacoordinate organotin(â…£) complex were investigated and compared with the tetracoordinated organotin complex. The influence of ionophores, buffer system, pH values on the response upon anions was also investigated and the response mechanism was primarily discussed. The results show that the electrodes based on VEDBT exhibit more excellent linear response...
