NBR / PP thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) was prepared by dynamic vulcanization and compatibilization technology. MAPP, DETA and XNBR compatibilization system was used to make polymer blending good quality. The tensile strength of this formulation and its enlongation at break were all increased. If DETA was put into XNBR a little earlier, the enlongation at break of TPE was bigger and the tensile strength was smaller. If DETA was reacted with MAPP or MAPP and PP, the result was that the tensile strength of compatibilizer was increased obviously.The optimium vulcanization system, blending formulation and process condition were seeked. The results indicated that the carbonyl NBR / diethyltriamine / maleic anhydride PP (XNBR / DETA / MAPP) combination was an effective compatilization system, and the technology route was feasible. In the compatibilization system based on MAPP, the two key components were DETA and XNBR.From the experiments, the density of NBR/PP TPE was 0.99, the hardness was 89 Shore A, the limited elongation stress of 300% was 9.96MPa, the tensile strength of the resulting product was 11.65Mpa, and its elongation at break was 340%, the oil-proof property was very good, the properties were as good as those of the similarproduct Geolast of Monsanto Company. Compared with the general oil-proof rubber, such as NBR, CPE, CR, CSM, when the hardness (high hardness) was the same, the density of NBR/PP TPE was 50% smaller, the enlongation rate at break was 100% to 200% higher.
