Derrick is a critical component in the petroleum machinery; its safety is related to the safety of equipment, person and properties, etc. During its usage, due to the defects result from disassembly, install and transport, as well as the influence of out loading and corrode, there is an undesirable change in the internal structure of the derricks in usage to reduce the bearing capacity of its initial design. For this reason, we developed the research for technology computer simulation of derricks in usage. It mostly solve these problem, such as simulating the working condition of field destructive test for various derricks and giving the layout of repair and reinforcement for derrick rapidly and accurately through the computer, economizing the manufacture of derrick model, shortening the period of research.The object-oriented finite element technology and C++ language are used in the development of the simulation system. Because the object-oriented finite element software has these unique advantages, such as reusability of code, expandability, etc. we apply the advanced finite element development software technology to the research and development of the derrick simulation system. Therefore, we accomplished the definition for the kind of related object-oriented finite element, the realization of member function, and successfully applying it to the development of simulation system.A computer simulation system for derricks in usage is researched and developed. The system includes the model data library of the derricks in usage, the finite element analyses for the static stress characteristics, dynamic characteristics and stability of ihe well derricks and derricks with defect pole, as well as the reliability analyses of derrick structures and the local finite element analyses for layout of reinforcement of damaged components in the derricks, and etc.The practical application of the simulation system in model derrick F320,and JJ250/42-K in usage illustrates the reliability of the system and the flexibility in applications.
