Study On The Environmental Problems And Economic Assessment Of Loss Caused By Exploitation Of Mineral Resources In Tangshan

The environmental pollution in mines has a severe influence on our society and ourlife. In order to make scientific decision and even to achieve the sustainable development,it may be a fundental way to estimate such damages caused by pollution in terms ofeconomic loss, and to present those different degrees of damages in form of monetaryfigure. Estimating economic losses caused by environmental pollution not only helpspeople lean the quantitative degree of pollution, but also provides the government withuseful information to lay down proper policies.This dissertation is to discuss the environmental influence caused by the exploitationof the mineral resources to local area. It studies three types of variate and value mode ofloss in calculating environmental economy. Through the identifying the factors ofenvironmental harm, the loss of environmental economy is quantified in the use of mineralresources. It emphasizes analyzing the water processing loss, the mineral tailings, mullockcover loss and the agricultural, forestry losses caused by occupation of the farmlands andwoodlands. At view of difficulty to estimate the loss of landscape, it adopts the recoveringmethod to calculate the environmental loss. The whole loss resulting of environmentalpollution and ecological damages is more than 44453.795 ten thousand dollars, and morethan 64980.0112 ten thousand dollars annually. At last, it gets that the suitability (S) ismore than 0.1 and less than 1. This explains that the resources of Tang should not bedeveloped under the poor condition of technology and management.Finally, we put forward some countermeasures aiming at the improvingenvironmental problems and the ecomomic loss of environment in mines.
