On the base of analyzing the current situation of applying GIS to researching geo-enviroment and geological disaster in our country and overseas, the thesis developedgeological data managed system adopting GIS components(MapObjects) and programmingtools(VB), aiming at current situation of the sudying of Tangshan urban geology. Mythesis includes eight function modules as follwing: showing and managing layers, movingaround a map, identifying features, selceting features, analysis, updating database, and soon. Furthermore, urban geo-database of Tangshan was construct by the software of Accessand ArcGIS DeskTop through which user can inqure geologyical informantion quickly andefficiently . Last, construct the model of Tangshan urban environment geology evaluationby the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, considering stratum and lithology,tectonic geolygy, hydrogeology, ground subside caused by coal cutting, and then draw themap of environmental geology evaluation of Tangshan city, which offering help andsustain for the construction and planning of the city.
