The smash mica ore in Lingshou is the biggest desposit in size.The exploitationthere has more than fifty years. Because of the limitation of temporal technology, when 1trun-of-mica ore was separated, 0.4t tailings were brought out. According investigation, theaccumulate tailings has reached 400,000 tons at present. Large numbers of mica tailingsoccupy rooms, waste resources, pollute our environment, so we study it on the basis ofrecovering mica.In this paper, the character of the tailings was firstly analyzed in detail. With the assistof microscope, the compose of minerals,its existing state and content in tailings wereconfirmed. And on this base, the flowsheet of roll milling-screen-gravity-flotation wasformed.After a series of condition test, many parameters were decided: the grind granularitywas –200 mesh 27.8%,40 mesh screen was used in order to concentrate flake mica; ingravity, four room classifier was used, then was 6-s wet table; in flotation, twelve-aminewas used as collector,H2SO4 was used as regularity,the pH was 3~4, the whole solutionwas acid. Finally, the product of mica was obtained, the quality of mica product is asfollows: grade 96%; recovery 90.36%; content of quartz 0.7%; content of magneticsubstance 0.024%. This has meet to the prospective aim of the research.The appraisal of recover mica from tailings has been made. If a mineral processingplant for recover mica was built there, the cost is low, the product value is high, theeconomic benefit is remarkable; at the same time, it will release ground, protectenvironment, settle some problems of employment, the society benefit is also distinct.
