Since the super-high pressure abrasive water jet technology appeared , it was noted by the people all over the world. It had got great development in a short time. At present ,there are many large company factory and researching institutions are pursuing the studying of the process and its application . It using its numerous merits and characteristic becomes the development trend in the 21th century in cutting field.The paper mostly studies the super-high pressure abrasivewater jet technology in following several aspect:At first, the structure of water jet beam as well as its characteristic and mechanism in cutting different kinds of material were discussed. Second, I discusses the intensifying principle, approaches and system components to form high pressure water jet .Third, analyzing the super-high pressure abrasive water jet's accelerating characteristics and mixing mechanism of sand and water .Then giving some calculations about its basic parameters. On the basis of former theoretical investigation and following foundation experiment and applied tests, the relations between traverse speed and the form of kerf , cutting capability and other factors are obtained .At the same time , we get to know most of the factors that affect the quality of cutting surface and work out some improving measures. Then , introduce the CAD system that used in the experiment and the usage of the M software.Through all of the theoretical analysis and experiments studying, basically ,we have mastered the capability of cuttingsystem and abrasive water jet. At last part ,1 designed two scheme for using super-high pressure abrasive water jet in finishing . It is a pity that I haven't enough time to verify its feasibility.
