The quality control of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is one of the problems to be solved promptly in the process of the modernization of TCM. Along with the development of information and analytical technology, the TCM fingerprints technique has become an important means of quality control of TCM. Three parts are included in the dissertation.Part 1: In the part, the principle of the fingerprints of traditional Chinese medicine and its effects on development of Chinese material medics has been introduced. Part 2: Analysis on the Chemical constituents by HPLC.1.Magnolol was isolated from the Magnolia officinalis by reversed-phasepreparative high performance liquid chromatographic preparation.2.One pyranocumarins were identified by MS spectrum analysis .Thecompound obovatol isn t reported on the Magnolia officinalis in china.3.To establish the method of analysis on Magnolia officinalis by HPLC. InMagnolia officinalis, Magnolol, Honokiol and Obovatol were identified ,this method provides a reference standard for the quality control ofMagnolia officinalis.Part 3: Studies on the Fingerprints of Magnolia officinalis by HPLC.1.The leaching of magnolol in Magnolia officeinalis Rehd et Wils bypower ultrasound was studied with respect to the effects different leachingtime.2.Reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC)fingerprint of the Magnolia officinalis was established.lt may be practicalvalue for the quality control of sample for the Magnolia officinalis Rehd etWils. The achievements in this thesis show a great possibility and attractive future of fingerprints applied to the quality control and modernization of TCM as well as other relative fields.
