In China, with the industrial development, the requirement for water treatment is more strict. The technology of reverse osmosis desalination are adopted abroad in the most corporation. But RO system are confronted with great threat of fouling. The study for the problem will help the technology using in our country.On the background of solving the calcium carbon fouling of reverse osmosis system, all sorts of factor which affects the fouling of reverse osmosis equipment and some solution methods are discussed on the based of actual investigation and referring to a mass of domestic and international document information. In the same time, we use some experience by the other student for reference. After series of experiments to compare some multiple water treatment antiscalants based on some classics regents, such as organic phosphonate, polycarboxylate et al, a primary combination of scale inhibitor being able to keeping reverse osmosis system unfouling is developed. In order to do it, we used some mathematical method to arrange experiments. A effective experimental design method, uniform design, is used to help optimize the program. In the optimization experiments, the proportions are independent variables and the Static method is used the way for assessment of scale inhibitor. According to the results of experiment, a optimal program is concluded. The performance of scale inhibition is tested by the RO equipment in our laboratory. The results of experiments attest to the above-mentioned scale inhibitor well done for controling the fouling.We made some summary for the mechanism of scale inhibitor in the article, the mechanism of the above-mentioned scale inhibitor is also studied by SEM.At the present time, the methods of performance assessment of RO scale inhibitor have not be found. Using the methods of circulating water scale inhibitor is insufficiency to assess the RO scale inhibitor. In order to solve the problem, we tested several way such as critical pH method, turbidity measurement to find a way adapt to assessment of RO scale inhibitor. We made the turbidity measurement some changes. The experimental results showed the turbidity measurement was simple and could be using for evaluating the special scale inhibitor of RO.
