With the advantages of nondestructive measurement, iterance, security, economic, controllability, no limit of the climate and space, computer simulation wall bring a profound transformation to the exploiting process of traditional mineral resource.According to the characteristics of the mathematic models used, some basic blocks in Simulink which are suitable for the simulation in mineral processing engineering were found. The Mineral Processing Simulation Platform(MPSP) was developed applying with S-Functions, Subsystems and Masking technology, etc.MPSP was mainly made up of crushing blocks library, grinding blocks library, granularity separation blocks library and flotation blocks library. In crushing blocks library, crushing block, screening block, sreening-crushing block, crushing-screening block and screening-screening-crushing block were built up. In grinding blocks library, batch grinding block of ball mill was developed, on the base of which, batch grinding block of rod mill and autogenous mill can be set up continuously. Both continuous grinding and continuous flotation related to material transmission process, so residence time distribution block of complete mixing flow of N constant volume in series was built up as an example. In granularity separation blocks library, vibrating screen block and cyclone blocks based on Lynch model and Plitt model were built up. In flotation blocks library, batch flotation recovery blocks and optimal flotation time block were developed.The simulation trials of batch grinding, screening and batch flotation were done using the platform. The simulation results of batch grinding reflected correctly the objective rule of batch grinding. The result of the screening simulation matched the experiments value on the whole. The recovery of batch flotation simulation was consistent with the experimental value. In the simulation of optimal flotation time, separation efficiency curves were showed, therefore the optimal flotation time, the grade and recovery of the concentrate was able to be got.The simulation results of MPSP accorded with the objective rule ofmineral processing process. Modeling and simulation of mineral processing with Simulink were valid.
