Plate-fin is a new and highly effective heat transfer part. It is always a difficult problem in manufacturing that how to machining the fin. Some highly thermal conductivity non-ferrous metal such as Al or Cu are used to make the fin, which are great plastic and tough, but difficulty with processes. Rolling is a highly effective plastic forming processing method without filings.Plate-fin would have good mechanics performance and surface quality by useing the mothed. Furthermore, the tool have long life in this machining method. So, it has been noticed by more and more researcher.Research the process of plate-fin rolling forming are based on metal plastic form theory and rigid-plastic finite element theory foundation. The model of plate-fin rolling form process based on FEM (Finite Element Method).The key question such as boundary condition, grid division and friction were analysed and processed. The process was simulated by using DEFORM-3D,and the factor of influence the form process and quality were discussed.The qualitative analysis to the distribution of stress, strain and rolling pressure in the machining process are given. The relations between plate-fin's high, and press measures, rolling pressure were obtained.The reasons that lead into plate-fin rended were analysed and summarized.All above create the condition for research and develope the technics equipment of plate-fin rolling form,and provide the theory basis for the actual process.The plate-fin rolling form experiment was done with rolling tool designed and made by myself.The rolling fin's structure and parameter are obtained,and contrast to simulation.It proved that result of simulation are consistent with experiment on the fin's structure and parameter.However,simulation precision must improve and enhance unceasingly in present because there are certain error of tool and model between theory and actual.
