Plate is an important steel variety, generally accounted for about 10 percent of totaloutput of steel. Plate products which are widely used in infrastructure construction,shipbuilding, engineering machinery, container, energy, construction and other industries,play an important role in the national economy.Based on the basic laws of heat transfer theory, this paper analyzes the influence ofthe plate rolling process boundary conditions such as the plastic work, friction heat, heatconvection, radiation, high pressure water descaling, cooling between rolls on thetemperature of the rolled piece, establishes the mathematical model of the temperaturefield with the finite difference method. The unit rolling pressure mathematical model isdeduced from Orowan balanced differential equation by considering the elastic squashedof the roll and analyzing the process of rolling pressure distribution, also the deformationresistance model is ensured by considering the influence of deformation temperature,speed and degree. The off-line simulate of plate rolling process is achieved with thecomprehensive calculation of the parameters of the plate rolling process such as thevelocity, the temperature, the rolling force and so on.Based on the achievement of the off-line simulation of the plate rolling process, aGUI (graphic user interface) , which was made by Visual Basic programming tool ofMicrosoft , was developed for the off-line simulation system of the plate rolling process,after the research of various parameters which are required for the off-line simulation. TheGUI can call the simulation program which was written by C++ programming language bymix-programming method. In that way, the program works well; it can be used to calculatewide kinds of plate rolling processes. With the comparison of simulating results andexperiment result, the system is proved to be accurate and acceptable.
