| Knitted fabrics play an important role in elastic tight garments, because of their good elasticity. Clothing pressure is one of the important factors for evaluation of garment comfort. The objective research and evaluation depends on the methods of testing and instrument. Therefore, it is very important to have research on testing method and instrument of clothing pressure, which will give out significant theoretical and practical effect on the comfort research and proper usage of various elastic garments.The author developed a new testing system for measuring clothing pressure in order to test clothing pressure under the condition of static and dynamic state. The testing system includes two parts: hardware and software. Firstly, hardware includes sensor, amplifier, DAQ and computer. The testing electric circle was designed based on the theory of amplifier. The test system was calibrated. The results of the calibration indicated that the properties of the sensor and electric circle are good. Secondly, the software was developed with virtual instrument of LabVIEW? under the Windows XP environment. It mainly includes DAQ driving module, data gathering module, reading and writingmodule, and data conversion module. Finally, the data will be save on the computer and exported as EXCEL file.The article also introduced the types and the principles of the traditional instruments on clothing pressure measurement. There are many advantages of the testing system based on virtual instrument, such as clear interface, easy use, low development cost and easy for update. It has wide foreground applications in textile related testing.Another important part of the article is that the tensile properties of the elastic knitted fabrics with different structures and parameters were measured. A clothing pressure model was setup to analyze the relationships between the properties of the fabric and pressure. Finally the results from the measurement and model calculation were compared. |
