Compact-siro spinning is a new spinning technology which integrates compact spinning and siro spinning, which is widely used. Compact spinning, which is the further improvement of traditional ring spinning, is added a condensator behind drafting field so that spinning triangle reduced or substantially eliminated, thus improving the quality of the yarn. Siro spinning have similar yarn structure with strands, which yarn strength, evenness and hairiness properties is excellent. Compact-siro spinning is a combination of two kinds of spinning technology, its fabric is widely adaptability and the fabric style is good, which is suitable for development of high grade fabric. So the structure and properties of compact-siro spinning polyester yarn is investigated in order to improve the overcapacity and low quality problem of polyester yarn, thus enrich the application of polyester products.This paper mainly studies the properties of compact-siro spinning pure polyester yarn. Firstly, 14.6tex, 9.7tex and 7.3tex of five kinds of twist factors(310、330、350、370 and 390)of ring spinning, compact spinning, siro spinning and compact-siro spinning pure polyester yarn under the same yarn parameters setting was spun, then its apparent structure, hairiness and evenness of the yarn was analyzed, on the basic of this, the breaking strength and elongation, moisture conductivity and friction of yarn was investigated and compared, the conclusions are as follows:1. The longitudinal apparent structure of the yarn was observed and analyzed by scanning electron microscope, the results showed that: the structure of compact-siro yarn is more closely, and its surface is smoother; compact-siro yarn has double-stranded structure after untwisting the yarn; the cross-sectional structure of the yarn was observed and analyzed by microscope, the results showed that: the cross-sectional shape of compact-siro yarn is closer to a circle, fibers of yarn body are twisted tightly, so the yarn structure is more closely; and the compactness increased with the increase of twist factor and decreased with the increase of linear density; the hairiness and evenness of the yarn was tested and analyzed, the results showed that: the H value of yarn hairiness of compact-siro yarn is smaller, evenness is also improved, the index of thick, thin and neps is better than other three spinning methods yarn.2. The breaking strength and elongation of the yarn was tested by yarn strength tester, and the breaking strength and elongation of the yarn was analyzed from three aspects: yarn compactness, yarn evenness and breaking strength distribution, the results showed that: yarn compactness and evenness has a certain impact on breaking strength and elongation, yarn breaking strength and elongation improved with the improvement of yarn compactness and evenness; compact-siro yarn obtained higher breaking strength and lower strength irregularity compared with other three kinds of yarn especially at lower linear density; yarn strength and elongation was affected by twist factor, in a certain range, with the increase of yarn twist factor, the yarn strength and elongation of yarn was improved.3. The moisture conductivity of yarns was tested by capillary wicking method, and the moisture conductivity of compact-siro yarn was analyzed from four aspects: spinning method, twist factor, linear density and wicking time, the results showed that: yarn moisture conductivity was affected by yarn structure, twist factor, linear density and wicking time, the compact-siro yarn obtained the best moisture conductivity compared with other three kinds of yarn based on the same yarn parameters setting; within a certain range, the moisture conductivity of yarn deteriorated with the increase of twist factor and improved with the increase of the yarn linear density; with the increase of the wicking time, the capillary height of the compact-siro yarn increased first and then gradually became more balanced; the variation of capillary height with the increase of wicking time of four kinds of spinning methods yarn was consistent.4. The friction coefficient of the yarn was tested and analyzed by the capstan method, the results showed that: the friction coefficient of compact-siro yarn is smaller; yarn friction is affected by twist factor and linear density, the static friction coefficient decreased with the increase of twist factor and increased with the increase of linear density; the variation of dynamic friction was the same with the static friction; the abrasion resistance of the yarn was tested and analyzed by abrasion-resistant tester, the results showed that: the abrasion resistance of compact-siro yarn is better, and the number of abrasion-resistant increased with the increase of twist factor.
